Planting Directions

      Here are planting instructions for Boise and the Treasure Valley. Our area is very alkaline, so following our recommendations is as important as choosing the plant itself. Having been in the landscape and nursery for over 50 years as certainly taught me that just because a plant is recommended for the Treasure Valley doesn't mean it will survive here. Many of the plant tags you see on plants are actually produced in California, the same plant where many of our plants are from. They have excellent acidic soil, great growing conditions based on their climate and of course their many facilities that are producing subproducts like nursery containers, plant tags, fertilizer and chemical companies and more that support the growing industry we buy everyday.
